The Sanskrit word kaivalya means the state of absolute oneness with God. The Hermitage is an environment that is dedicated to supporting that potential in the consciousness of every member and guest. In order to fulfill this purpose the Hermitage offers an experience in the Ananda Spiritual Family lifestyle, which is based on the path of Self-Realization as presented by Paramhansa Yogananda (author of Autobiography of a Yogi) and shared by his direct disciple Swami Kriyananda, the founder of Ananda Sangha Worldwide.
You can arrive with a specific purpose like learning to meditate or spending time in seclusion, or you can just join in and let the Divine spontaneously guide your experience. The choice is yours.
Kaivalya Hermitage is in its early stages of development. Located on 22 acres of pasture and forest in Elma, Washington, it provides an opportunity to be in a nature setting that supports inner stillness. As you explore our website seek inner guidance as to how you might participate.
